Inspired by the popular interest in Egyptian forms aroused by the discorvery of Tutankhamen's Tomb, Pyramid's straight lines and stepped finial blend a historical reference with the functional look then in vogue. Nielsen's design appears to owe more to the influence of the German Bauhaus than to Georg Jensen's naturalism. Nielsen's clean, unadorned design was precisely in step with popular Deco style of the time. Moreover, Nielsen led the way to making the firm's designs once again fresh and contemporary.
